this was a stretch. i printed the photo out on pastel paper and punched it up with nu-pastels. quite fun. those rubber-tipped tools came in handy. also tissue. i currently have it up on ebay for the CaaT theme: dogs in jobs.

i found some small tools for pushing pastel around. they work pretty well at fine lines.

keeping my hand in

i have to say, this off-hand art experiment seems to be working pretty well. my left hand will be weak for some time after it's out of the cast. nice to know i'll be able to keep my hand in with the right. 8-]

pastel ACEOs. white lines are reflections from saran wrap on scanner. first two here are drawn w/ pastel, third one w/ sepia ink.

shiny lines are from saran wrap on the scanner. this was fun and not at all restrictive. now i want to try pastel-coloring sketches. i used my finger and a stomp, but i want to dig out those small stencil brushes i have -- probably with my printing supplies.
